You’ve probably watched at least one of their commercials or seen one of their billboards (especially if you’re in a weather prone area).WeatherTechis easily the most marketed floor mat brand, and it’s easy to understand why. WeatherTech practically invented the modern custom fit floor mat, bringing it to market to a large range of car and truck applications. The popularity of WeatherTech mats is impossible to deny.

    • Laser-measured for perfect fitment in every vehicle– WeatherTech boasts a laser-beam engineered fitment process, thereby guaranteeing that your mats will be a completely perfect fit to your car or truck. With raised lip edges, it will be difficult for anything to get past its protection.

    • Price is more than the others– WeatherTech is the gold standard in floor liners, and the price matches this standard. Although, I personally think it’s worth the investment to protect your factory floors from damage, moisture, etc. It can pay itself off when it’s time to sell your car or truck.

“Perfect fit and perfect look. Will hold all the weather you bring into your car on the mat with it’s lifted sides. Compared to weathertech, which are good, Maxpider are Outstanding! Flexible material is so much better than the hard plastic of weathertech. Maxpider are the absolute best! I love them!

    – Nancy M.

    • They look very luxurious– all due to the minimalist design and carbon fiber print on top. These look especially great in luxury vehicles and sedans, but are also durable enough for trucks and SUVs with heavy usage.
    • They work like a tray– if you get a spill, it’s easy to take them out and dump the spill out in your trash can. They do not flop and are not flimsy. This helps contain spills, which makes these clean up much, much easier.
    • The price is very reasonable– the MAXpider floor liners are priced very reasonable, normally sitting in the middle range between WeatherTech and Husky Liners.
    • They have a velcro-like bottom– this gives the floor mats incredibly strong traction, without creating dents in the carpet like nibs might.
    • The driver’s side has a heel pad– this gives the driver a little extra padding and comfort under their heel

    • There aren’t a lot of vehicle applications– MAXpider is a newer company, so they are mainly focused on newer model vehicles. This is great news if you have a new vehicle, but if you have a vehicle older than 2010, chances are you’ll need to go with WeatherTech or Husky Liners.
    • There is limited inventory– it takes a lot of money to hold inventory for thousands of vehicles and in 3 separate colors, which is difficult for a newer company to do. As a result, outside of the most popular vehicles, these floor liners have frequent stock shortages. This is especially true with newer vehicles when there is a surge in demand.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Which is better Husky or WeatherTech?

WeatherTech is the better choice for most people, for two reasons: 1) they have more vehicles in-stock than Husky, and 2) there are more color options.

As far as fitment, both are very similar. If Husky makes a mat for your vehicle, it comes down to personal preference.

Are Husky floor mats any good?

Absolutely! In fact, the fit is almost exactly the same as WeatherTech while being cheaper than WeatherTech. From a form and fit perspective, and from everyday usage, you will not find much difference between the two.

What’s better than WeatherTech floor mats?

The MAXpider floor liners are a better option if you are looking for something that looks more luxurious and has a minimalist look. The MAXpider floor liners do not look as “rugged” as WeatherTech or Husky.

Are WeatherTech floor mats worth it?

Definitely! These floor liners will last as long as your vehicle, and come with a lifetime guarantee. These floor liners can help preserve your resell value by stopping mold, mildew, and stains from getting in your carpet.

What is Kagu? Is that the same as rubber floor mats?

Yes, Kagu is the brand name of the MAXpider rubber floor mats. Instead of calling them Kagu, we normally just say rubber to avoid any confusion. It is all the same, though.

Do these come in other colors besides black grey and tan?

The WeatherTech DigitalFit comes in cocoa for a few lucky vehicles (mainly new model SUVs).
The Lloyd Northridge is available in several different colors, including pink, blue and yellow, if you are looking for a really unique color.

Which stay put best without moving?

The MAXpider set has the best traction, because it has a velcro-like bottom.
The Husky Liner sets have nibs on the bottom to help with better traction, but some people don’t like that it digs into your carpet.

The MAXpider, Husky Liner WeatherBeater, and Weather Tech DigitalFit sets are all custom fit from wall-to-wall, which helps prevent the mats from sliding around. All use factory anchor devices when the factory floor is equipped with them.

The MAXpider mats look hard to clean. Are they?

They are actually very easy to clean. You would think direct would be difficult to get out of the carbon fiber print, but it is actually very easy. The print isn’t very deep – just enough to help scrape mud off your shoes.

All it takes is a water hose, or a quick spray with a power washer at the car wash – just like any other mat.

We have the MAXpider mats in our vehicles and have had no issues cleaning them.
